      More trolling.

Sort of a "the wogs begin at Calais" attitude about beer.

      Ever brew your own?

never had time, and had access to too much back room goodness to want to

when I was in the business, I got a lot of 'here, try this' with both micros/local and wine too, (from local and from small importers)

fortunate to have the opportunity to try some really good stuff,

besides, one you get the taste for a good English Ale, or a good Belgian , you end up wanting more of it, or similar, and not so much the BMC's

we have a local brown that is devine, esp when the guys brewing it get a bit whacky and put it in various barrels for a time,

and a few good locals that can do a fantastic stout (one is annually rated 100 by Beer Advocate) ,

Well it would come as news to the Bavarians that they have been brewing lawn mower beer all this time.

But we probably agree that #MAGA isn't about going back to the beer choices of the 1950s and '60s.

Since the craft beer thing started there have been a couple of thousand new brews made. They come and go. Some are weird for weirdness sake.

I'm just one of the boring American beer guys! But some of the trendy names and the way kids act about beer nowadays makes me chuckle, like the more unheard of the beer, the more "hip" they are.

Have you ever read, "The Millionaire Next Door?" The authors were hired to do a study on millionaires by a brokerage firm. They invited people with net worth over $10,000,000 apiece to come in for interviews, They had champagne, caviar and so on. And when the interviews were all over, none of it had been touched. They asked one of the millionaires and he said, "Son, I only drink two kinds of beer -- Budweiser and some one else's."

maga has nothing to do with it,

if you think Bavarians brew lawnmower beer you may want to stop and educate your self,

not a fan of most German Beers, since they really like lagers, except a good Berliner Wiesse, or a good Heffe on a hot day is tasty

Good lord man you're the one who calls lagers lawn mower beer because you like ales and dislike lagers.

And yes I am educated on the subject. When I brewed beer, and built the equipment to do it, it was German style, from the home-made mash-kettle to the counterflow chiller to the temperature controlled lagering environment. Got to be too much work, and the kids were getting older and frankly I don't drink enough such that it was worthwhile, with the incredible selection of lagers that are available in this part of the country. LMB to you apparently. Another beer snob in a world too full of them already.

Anyhow it was fun while I did it and I have my old recipes if I ever take it up again.

PS: Offer me an ale and I won't turn it down, and I have a special fondness for XB, which I've only had as a tourist bringback by friends (that would be Theakston's if you ever heard of them). But for a cold one in the evening, I like the German style brews and only a fool would try to find fault with that.
