    Happy 400th Mayflower day ...

Celebrations scheduled to observe the day the Pilgrims landed
were cancelled due to the virus and no doubt those who would
gladly revise history saying that the real reason the Pilgrims came
here was not to establish colonies but to slaughter the natives.

Neat pic of ship under sail.

Cancelling the observance probably averted another BLM riot.

It's a wonder they didn't riot Because they were cancelled.

Come to think of it, I doubt those morons would know it was a Ship.
Probably thought a Springtime flower wasn't worth rioting over.

Anyone remember the PBS mini-series "1900 House"? A family of modern Brits had to live exactly as it was back in the day, barring emergency. Local grocers even instructed to only sell them period items.

So post-Covid (when such things become easier), how about a real reenactment of the Mayflower voyage? Real replica ship sailing from Southampton (everything seemed to leave from Southampton back then it seems), all the way across the Atlantic, with period food, clothes, equipment, rules, customs, etc. That would be something to watch on TV.

I bet people quarreled a lot back then. So many reasons to.

Correction: Mayflower sailed from Plymouth, not Southampton.

If you have ever been on one of the replica Mayflowers you will be surprised how little room there is on board. If your over 5'4" you will have to duck down just to walk below decks or your head will know it. Very cramped quarters with little to no privacy. Not very good sanitary conditions and poor food. All made for a great voyage.

The replica Mayflower was built in England,
How do you think it got here ?
And - The voyage was replicated.

Tens of thousands did it. The crybabies & bedwetters got weeded out--unlike now, when every provision is made to encourage their proliferation.

Will half die on the way to dinner, like the real one?
