"The Rich get rich and the poor get poorer"

With the song it was jovial, but in real life terms it's
    hard to find the fun.
Elton Musk, Dorsey,Zuckerberg and Gates together have
an amassed fortune of several hundred billion dollars
while millions of Americans can't afford a hot dog.
Togor will accuse me of being green but while it's true I
could find some joy in having a million or two, I am not
envious of the rich. They earned what they have and good
luck to them.. The point is, this kind of huge disparity is
asking for trouble somewhere down the line because under
Biden's leadership the poor are likely going to get a lot poorer
and the rich a lot richer. And in addition to the misery of not
having a job and relying on food banks to feed a family,
enter the inevitable inflation caused by profligate spending.
This will take a bite out of whatever meager amount the
people have left. Nah, I don't want any cake. I want a steak.

There was a study not so long ago that focused on Lower Socio-economic Class children (defined as being raised by a single parent on welfare.) The study round that these kids have a 74% chance of making it into the Middle Class IF they do three things:

    1. Graduate from high school OR get a GED.
    2. Get a job and stay employed -- they don't have to be CEO of Goldman-Sachs. Flipping burgers or waiting tables counts.
    3. Don't have children before age 21.

Do you realize that if ALL kids in the Lower Socio-economic Class did these three simple things, in three generations there would be no more Lower Socio-economic Class? They would all have moved into the Middle Class.

No imagine what this would do for us -- a huge slug of people, about 29%, would cease to be consumers of welfare and would become contributors! Most of our problem would simply go away.

The problem is NOT that the Bill Gates of this world make too much, it's that the Lower Socio-economic Class kids COULD work their way up, but won't.

Well there you have it....Vernon read a study. 90's technocracy to the rescue. DT I agree that the wealth inequality raises issues, basically along the lines that the folks at the bottom stop cooperating with an economic system that they believe is intended to screw them. I disagree that Democrats are worse than Republicans in this regard. I would not say they are better but I do not think they are worse.

        Vern's three generations plan.

Might be the world's worst politician or financial advisor.

Vern's view would work if the kids got a decent education. But they don't.
Graduating kids have trouble reading their diplomas. If we fixed the
education system by firing the lousy teachers, that would be a start.
But what hope is there of that now that Biden and company are in
the drivers seat instead of Trump ?

How many ride alongs in the police car does a citizen of Ohio get to claim he's "lar' enfarcement" anyway?

I do remember Boggs telling us they kept him in an office with the women. (Social work being a female-dominated occupation.). So now he's overcompensating, but there's no shame in men being in female-dominated fields; just do the job well. And let them know when it's your birthday.

What I find interesting is the Democrats are now the party of Big Business and Wall Street-Jon Corzine and Phil Murphy both came from Goldman Sachs-and so many of the "malefactors of great wealth"-George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, Warren Buffett-are on the Left. Their motto seems to be "Big Government, why fight it when you can buy it!"

-folks at the bottom stop cooperating with an economic system that they believe is intended to screw them.- They have always been screwed. The rich might throw a few coins their way but stay fifty feet askance. If the poor want to get poorer, ignore that hand that feeds them.
The rich are getting a little richer. At least this year. Dang this is interesting. Ooh,maybe these are those interesting times. Load up barrels of that $2.25 gasoline.

Come to Ohio and I am sure I can arrange something for you plus a stay at a not so fabulous "hotel". Actually having eaten the food a few times while working with clients it is not bad...as jail food goes.

No thank you. I passed on being a police officer years ago.

Considering the exorbitant retirement benefits, maybe I should have reconsidered. I like the occupation I have now.
