Portland State Prof : Thanksgiving Is Offensive, Must Be Replaced

As the left continues to change the US

During a recent guest lecture at Washington State University, Portland State University Professor Cornel Pewewardy told students that Thanksgiving should be replaced with a “National Day of Mourning.” Pewewardy told students that Thanksgiving is based on offensive stereotypes of “indigenous people.”

According to a report by Campus Reform, Portland State University Professor Cornel Pewewardy told students at Washington State University this month that Thanksgiving should be replaced with an alternative holiday. The reason? Pewewardy believes that Thanksgiving perpetuates offensive stereotypes about Native Americans.

I love the way the holier-than-thou leftists attack the founders and first settlers -- and yet continue to live on the land those founders and first settlers "stole" from the Indians. If they had any morals at all, they would except their share of the guilt and walk East until their hats float.

Who will represent the Indian women who gave the Great Pox to Columbus's crew, & other Spanish colonists? That's how it spread to Europe, where it was previously unknown. And while smallpox has been exterminated, syphilis is the Indian gift that KEEPS on giving.

It's a matter of debate whether syphilis was passed from the new world to the old in the Columbian Exchange. And if so that's one against many going the other way. The empty wilderness of North America discovered by Europeans was emptied out by a century's worth of epidemics.

Imagine traveling back in time to the 12th century to North America. The carrying capacity of the land being what it was, we could expect to find a lot of people. But their way of life was doomed, if not by disease, then competition.

Makes me wonder sometimes if we too are doomed and just don't know it yet.
