What happened to the Thanksgiving Day Parzde?

It isn't the same without the crowds and kids. I understand change because of COVID. Of people want to stay home, and/or wear masks, that's THEIR decision.

But, just getting close up pics of the baloons without sjowing the crowds...... and what about those stupid put up "shows" that roll up in front of the talking/heads. The marching bands performing their halftime shows are OK.

Couldn't stand it. Change channel to...Home Alone; 3rd time this month.

I miss the parade of my youth with coco, fuzzy bathrobe, sitting on a throw rug in front of the TV, watching Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Underdog, Goofey, the Sinclair Petroleum green dinosaur, and many others float high down the street.

In years past, TCM always ran T'giving-themed movies today; but that was before TCM went fanatically PC over the last couple of yrs. Rather than risk offending any redskins tonight, they ran 2 Hitchcock films that have been run 1000 times before.

TCM's hosts now include a "racism expert," whose job is to warn viewers about the "horrible" expressions of racism in many films. This cat is obviously 7/8s white!

Next year the "parade" will be...smaller due to budget restrictions. We watched White Christmas, Miracle on 34th street and Christmas in Conn. [1945]. We stopped watching the local news due to the constant Covid stuff.
