    Socialism at Work

I just got my annual letter from Social Security -- you know, the Old Age Insurance policy we were forced to pay into.

Next year I will be drawing $46.00 a month LESS than when I first applied, 17 years ago.

This is my punishment for working hard, scrimping and saving and managing my money.

According to my tax returns, I "make too much money."

Hey, when they were taking the money from me, did they complain about how much I paid in? Hell no!

No good deed goes unpunished. My advice, quit work go on the dole.
          There, problem solved.

So he's complaining about not getting enough money from a government program he doesn't actually need, but will still pay him more than he put in, and which insulates one part of his revenue stream from any and all nasty turns of the market. Neither crash or bank failure will deter the SSA from sending him a check every month like clockwork, and yet he complains about the unfairness of it all. Socialism at work indeed.

If privately invested, he could have realized a better ROI. That's the complaint.

Usually a stable fund will pay out less, but he's getting the security backed by the USG. He could have been a housewife, and gotten the same piece of mind.

And under Biden your checks will get smaller and smaller in order to provide more benefits to the welfare humanoids.

Your mandatory minimum tax-deferred withdrawals are cutting into the size of your guaranteed minimum income government check. Lots of people would consider that a nice problem to have.

They've been doing well for years, but over the last four years especially well -- despite the Corona Virus notch.

so, then your income rose from investments,, and enough to drop your SS benefits?
