Trump v. New York at SCOTUS Today

This is the case where Trump wants the census to just count citizens, legal residents, not actual people living here, for purposes of apportioning representatives between the states.

From an originalist perspective, it's an open-and-shut case. The text of the Constitution and 14th Amendment are unambiguous.

So a good test if Originalism and Textualism actually have some principles to them or are just fancy words to justify reaching whatever ends are desired at the moment.

I am impressed that your Haitian school taught you so much about America, does Haiti have something similar?

Well, whatever they decide we won't know about it for 6 months or so
as that is the usual time it takes for them to think about it and decide.
      Swift they ain't.

Well it's the Administration appealing so until SCOTUS decides the lower court ruling is in effect: count everybody. Which is also going to be the position of the Biden Administration.
