Police dept micro-management by the city’s mayor officers and quit

This is pretty typical of many small police departments. I believe all states now require officers to receive months of police and law enforcement training and schooling to receive state certification to be an officer but are often micro-Managed by a Mayor or board who have had no such training and who may be political or favor motivated.

The entire Police Force Resigns Amid Complaints Of ‘Micro-Managing’ Mayor as the entire police force of Pine Ridge, South Carolina, quit their jobs in protest of alleged micro-management by the city’s mayor in October, according to The State.

The Pine Ridge Police Department’s interim police chief, Lt. Vincent Silano, the only full-time police officer remaining for the town of 2,000, resigned on Oct. 13 of this year, The State reported. The department would normally have three full-time cops.
