What would change? You still need enormous amounts of ore to produce steel and other products. You need machinery to dig that ore. You need smelters and similar facilities. You need machinery to turn the resulting metals into manufactured products -- and there is a limit to how light you can go. Talk to someone who owns a hobby machine shop -- drill, lathe and milling machine all in one -- the lack of mass in these little tools limits the precision of the parts they make.Comment

we are living in 2020 with equipment that has been around in one form or another for 150 yrs or more,
look how much that has changed in that time,
imagine if you can, how much more it can change by 2170
we are not in a place we can make it to the moon for extended stays,, muchless mars or the belt,,,,,,
