Chinese can swing US policy because it has 'people at the top of America's core inner circle of power'

Di said the relationship was true for decades until President Trump came along
He also notes how the Obama administration was easy to manipulate

Trump tweets video of Chinese professor claiming that Beijing can swing US policy because it has 'people at the top of America's core inner circle of power' in clip that has been deleted from social media in China

Di Dongsheng, a professor at Renmin University in Beijing, appeared on a Chinese television show about Wall Street and international trade last month

The video was deleted from Chinese social media soon after being uploaded but copies were made which have since been circulating including YouTube

Professor Di stated how China had 'people at the top of America's core inner circle of power and influence' for years and said the relationship was true for decades until President Trump came along

He also notes how the Obama administration was easy to manipulate

Di believes the old ties between China and the U.S. will be restored once President Biden is in the White House

Excerpts of the video were tweeted by President Trump on Monday night after Tucker Carlson shared a clip on his show.

Remember when Biden said "China is not a problem." How true that is now!

      Well,

Trump took a hard line on China, publicly, but as a practical matter, nobody can say exactly what came of it besides massive purchases of Brazilian soybeans.

But if you want to see that line continue, and Biden actually make something come of it, then your problems are less likely to be with the government, and more likely to be with the industry lobbyists that want access to cheap Chinese labor and the high Chinese tolerance for industrial pollution.

Trump brought the burgeoning Chinese problem into stark relief, drawing a contrast with the Clintonian/Chamber-of-Commerce fantasy that has prevailed since the 1990s.

IMO the most useful thing Trump did.

If Biden wants to continue that, he will face back pressure from US companies for whom outsourced Chinese manufacturing is part of their business plan.

I assume you'll be cheering for Biden in that case, wishing him well.

Just because Biden doesn't argue with anyone and everyone, it doesn't put him in the Chinese pocket, the way Trump was in the pocket of the Gulf states and certain other un-democratic countries.

It's like some people are rooting against the country because the other party is in charge. I have a deservedly low opinion of Trump but I never let that diminish my opinion of America.
