    AOC vs. Goya Foods

What happens when an inconsequential person thinks they are consequential.

AOC called for a boycott of Goya Foods because their CEO supported Trump. Goya just announced that AOC had been made employee of the month, as their sales had increased 1000% since her called for boycott.

Hard to imagine their production lines absorbing a 10x increase.

When she boycotted us, our sales actually increased 1,000 percent,” Robert Unanue said on radio’s “The Michael Berry Show.”

          Never heard of Goya.

Dry-bean shelves in the store I use have been running about half-filled for months, some selections completely bare.

Been seeing the Goya brand on the shelves for years. I always figured it was some hispanic, off the wall, off brand stuff. I'll certainly buy their products now.

Being married to a Latina Goya products have been a staple in our home for 30 + years .

We particularly like Goya Maduros , Ripe Plantains ... actually fresh plantains in the skin over charcoal are better but, the frozen Goya Maduros are great after 3 1/2 minutes in the microwave .

However, like most products we would normally purchase at MalWart they are not in stock 3 weeks out of 4 .

Goya likes Trump ? Fine, but we don't do the "I'm not buying your stuff because you don't agree with me chit" at our house so we'll continue to buy Goya......

however if Goya and it's sellers can't provide me their product.... which has been the norm these past 12 months... I'll find a source for something similar.

Better source being ... buy some plantains, skin having started to turn yellow., Put them over the charcoal grill turning once or twice. When the fruit starts to protrude from the skin.... done, beautifull.

a lot chains get goya thru a 3rd party, or part of goya at least,

Winn Dixie, (been almost 17 years since I worked for them) carried some thru the main warehouse, and the frozen stuff thru a 3rd party/ specialty delivery service

Kroger is the same on the east coast, most of the canned and packaged stuff came from the specialty type warehouse (slower selling specialty groceries delivered from a central warehouse that served several divisions) and a few of the frozen stuff from another non company owned supplier,

and that company was feast of famine, I could get cases or nothing, no rhyme or reason

Actually, Goya products always cost more than the store or generic brands. For ex, at Price Chopper a bag of split peas is $1.10 store brand, $2 Goya.

It all starts with orders, not the other way around.

Looks like a large banana. Fries up like a potato. A staple starch in Latin-Caribean cuisine among others.

I always knew the word Goya as a Yiddish slang for a Gentile. I still see that in their brand name to this day. As far as the price, its very convenient. Grab it at the supermarket instead of shopping the Spanish mom n pop corner stores.
