Europe is doing it. Shouldn't we? Has to come from Federal Government. No different than the China travel ban that everyone liked. Same objective.

The problem with the China travel ban was that the Virus was already in Europe. Closing the west door, leaving the east door wide open, criticism will rightly follow.

So far as we know the new variant is primarily located in the UK and Low Countries. A temporary restriction on travel from those lands seems appropriate, while people figure out if the new strain is truly almost 2X more contagious.

People cry about stuff all the time.

Cuomo wants a ban, since NYC is a prime landing spot. The Feds say "not yet". Unsure what they're waiting for.

But one problem with bans is that if you give 48 hours notice, or whatever and a gush of people scramble over. Or they change their air route to circumvent the ban.

I think UK has already banned travel entering and exiting the country,
only US citizens allowed to leave and return,

and by people,, I was referring to Nanz and crew, since they had a cow last time

This new strain is not more deadly, it just transmits more easily.
Governmental overreach - give them an inch and they'll take a mile.
