Money For Foreign Countries But Minimum" To US citizen's

Trump: Congress Found Plenty Of Money For Foreign Countries But Sent "Bare Minimum" To US citizen's

President Donald Trump released a video message Tuesday night admonishing Congress for the billions in proposed spending on foreign interests while only setting aside $600 for the American people in the coronavirus relief package. Trump is asking Congress to amend the stimulus bill and increase the "ridiculously low" $600 check to $2,000 per person.

"Congress found plenty of money for foreign countries, lobbyists and special interests while sending the bare minimum to the American people who need it," Trump said. "It wasn’t their fault, it was China’s fault. Not their fault."

Democrats climbed on board Trump's proposal with alacrity. It's a no-lose endorsement for them.

Semi-related, I always thought a sure-fire way to defeat any Trump proposal would be to have Obama vigorously endorse it.

It's actually a way to get back at McConnell for supporting the election results after giving the Trump lawyers their due process to present "in court" the claims they were making at the media events.

If by that you mean a certain politician looks to be turning his guns around then I agree that's possible. Or it could be positioning ahead of '24.

Part of Trump's appeal is that he is pretty lavish with the government giveaways. Easy for the "party of free stuff" to identify with that.

To me the whole stimulus thing is kind of weird. People who really need money need $6,000 and the folks making upwards of $50,00 don't need a lousy $600. I guess the $70,000 folks can buy a couple of bottles of very good wine for their collection. They probably spend $600 a week on just day to day stuff. So different businesses get some customers. That's the way we do things here. I guess it's my duty to spend the money on something. I remember Nixon sent me $50 a long time ago and I went out and bought a nice office chair.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Actually GW sent you a check for $600 right after he told you the economy was doing fine ... year later he sent you another $300.

Everyone here boasted they would spend it on firearms as it was obvious a Democrat was going to win the election .....

the economy still went South prior to that Democrat taking office....

those stimulus checks might not have worked as well as hoped but at least we all went into it with a new gun or Play Station or something
