Are you happy with $600 covis stimulus?

While you may get $600, the rest of the 3rd worls countries are getting millions! All that foreign aid in a package to help Americans? WTH!!?? Those millions could help mom and pop businesses survive another 6 months! But no, the democrats want to send it over seas!

The stimulus should be for the US citizens ONLY and nothing else in the bill period.

For the vote the Omnibus Spending Bill was lumped with the Covid relief bill. Bloggers not understanding this have proceeded to conflate them in misleading ways.

In the event, Trump hasn't signed the combo bill, and may not. And if he doesn't, not only is there no Covid money, but there is a partial government shutdown.

So don't spend that $600 yet guys. You might need it for cat food to get through Trump's Winter.

Is the President going to sign it or let it go back for rework?

It should have gone to citizens, not corporations in the form of delayed PPP. It was another drain on US resources.

WASHINGTON — Congressional leaders hashed out a massive, year-end catchall bill that combines $900 billion in COVID-19 aid with a $1.4 trillion omnibus spending bill and reams of other unfinished legislation on taxes, energy, education and health care. Congress passed the pandemic relief package and spending bill Monday night.

Money for all kinds of things. Some sensible some maybe not. Actually the article I read didn't mention any foreign aid but I'm sure it's there somewhere.

No matter how much anyone gets, the vast majority of it amounts to spending money we don't have to give people stuff to get their votes. The day of accountability (literally) will come eventually. The last COVID "stimulus" bill insured that this country will never be out of debt in my great grand childrens' day, maybe longer. Eventually inflation will set in and let me tell you, sports fans, nobody will be happy then.

P.J. O'Rourke (well known in Libertarian circles) once wrote a critically acclaimed book called "A Parliament of Whores." Know what the "punchline" at the end was....we're the whores.

wonder if that was the plan, to release it all in one,

Congress would have been smarter to release the OSB as one, and the Covid Relief separately,

But that's the plan -- combine wasteful spending with a bill that needs to be passed. It's an old trick -- and a good illustration of why we need a line item veto.

I could care less if the US gov't shuts down because most of the gov't deemed itself essential years ago and will get paid and be open. The exception is departments within DHS to include the USCG which my son is a member of, they will not get paid. All this money spent on countries that could care less if I live of die is just wrong. Hell congress could care less if I live or die and these two spending bills is a prime example. If I was the president I'd be doing the same thing as Trump on these spending bills. The people of the US need help, spend the money at home.

Happy about it? No. Should have been needs based. No reason at all for anyone with a current job, etc. to get anything. Should only be sent to Americans who are currently unemployed due to Covid. Absolutely nothing should go to anyone else... domestic or foreign or corporate. But, the check will show up in everyones mailbox. Mine will go into savings. No reason to blow it just b/c it is available. Sincerely. bruce.

Bruce you are a problem I'm thinking(but I'm going to do the same thing). The idea is to stimulate the economy. Not necessarily help people specifically. You are supposed to spend the money on fun. The people hurting use it for food. We aren't democrats; you don't give money to po' folks because they are poor. They're supposed to suffer some. But like I said in an earlier post, the 50K and above don't need $600 or 1200. Here a tidbit I saw just this evening: If you make over $75,000 you get $5 deducted for every $100 over 75K(how high does that go). So they still get some of it. I didn't know about that. It's just silly. I'm a little out of the scene here. I have a pension and(so far) that hasn't changed. So here's a question; stimulus every six months or so forever?

'Tis the season for putting sugarplums on the national credit card, apparently.

House voted for the $2K stimulus, sent it to the Senate. Up to Moscow Mitch to decide if he wants to be Bad Scrooge or Good Scrooge in DC's production of A Christmas Carol.
