Smashing the cars with their bikes.

Look at these jerks smashing the cars with their bikes..Hope the bikes also had some damage..

Boy, 15, denies smashing his bike on a BMW in Fifth Avenue gang attack and insists he was buying gifts for his MOM as new video shows mob surrounding a yellow taxi driver just moments earlier

Geovanni Valle, 15, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and rioting after he was allegedly seen smashing up a BMW SUV on Tuesday
He was one of up to 25 teenagers who allegedly carried out the brazen attack which occurred on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue in broad daylight

Dozens of youths on bicycles reportedly attacked and injured a cab driver at Fifth Avenue and 29th Street before riding south

At Fifth Avenue and 21st Street, the gang were caught on camera stopping traffic and randomly targeting Max Torgovnick, 36, and his mother, 74, as they drove along in a BMW SUV

Several of the teens began smashing up the vehicle and tried to open its doors to get inside the car..'That's something like you would see on the streets of a war zone. I never thought New York would get this bad,' a shaken Torgovnick stated

With police nowhere to be seen, the attack comes as New York struggles to deal with soaring rates of violent crime after officials agreed to slash the NYPD's budget by up to $1 billion earlier this year

Catch and release with no consequences. Had a local judge who had been a public pretender who did the catch and release. Cops backed off and just drove around with the bad guys doing their thing. Public soon got tired of that and the judge retired...on a nice pension.

Hope the mini-thug busted his hand on the vehicle glass. What can you expect from hoodlums that raise themselves in the street, and juvenile authorities that find it easier to catch and release or just totally ignore than do their job.

Re: Catch/release. What is to be done? Taxpayers refuse to pay the cost of locking offenders up. No one wants a prison built near their community. Everyone wants someone else to do the hard work of actually raising and educating and preparing children to be productive members of society. Have just now been reading about juvenile crime in the pre-WWII era. Thought the criminal justice system was at that time stricter. That supposition proved wrong. Nowadays, seems that the current crisis of the day has exacerbated what was already a ongoing problem. Sincerely. bruce.

It isn't a shortage of prisons that's the problem, it's a shortage of prosecutors with the cojones to prosecute and put away violent offenders.

Wonder why the drivers didn't just drive through these people. Also was the young man in the article known to the police? How else would they who he is from a picture unless someone identified him for the police.

Since when did taxpayers have the right to refuse to pay anything? The justice system is broken down, and ignores the problem.

And how can anyone say "Taxpayers refuse to pay" when we just paid billions to Egypt, Israel, Pakistan, etc., etc.?

Re: Refuse to pay. Taxpayers vote. If only the taxpayers voted for and supported law enforcement, etc., the money would be there. But, they cannot have it both ways. They cannot demand aggressive law enforcement and then refuse to pay higher taxes to cover the costs of police, courts, prisons, health care, etc. Talk is just talk. Tax payers have to be willing to actually do what is required ... vote for right thinking public officials and pay the costs associated with putting their talk into action. Sincerely. bruce.

What part of your tax return specifies where your money will go? When do you get to vote on how the money is spent?

Did you vote to spend money for gender studies in Pakistan?

You have no control over how much you are taxed, and no say in how the money is spent.

When a public official runs for office saying they will support the funding of a strong judicial system, etc., the taxpayer has the right to expect that person once elected to do exactly what they said they would do ... support funding a strong judicial system. If they end up putting money elsewhere, then the taxpayer has no reason to support the person. It's that simple. The same with gender studies, toad populations, the price of shoe strings, etc., etc., etc. Sincerely. bruce.
