One of the reasons for this is the Capitol historically has not had problems with right wing protests. The Anti-aborts, Promise Keepers ect. have, in the past, shown up, chanted, sang, listen to speeches, then dispersed generally taking their garbage with them. The Capitol Police assumed this would be the drill again and it wasn't.

74,000,000 people voted for Donald Trump this time. That number would have won any previous election by a landslide. The reason for their loyalty to Trump, in many cases, has less to do with Trump the man than the fact that unlike the Democrats, media people, and many in the Republican party, he didn't despise them. This country is badly fractured and will continue to be until people on the left stop thinking of those 74,000,000 people as racist, toothless, knuckle dragging trogs. Unfortunately yesterday probably only reinforced that erroneous perception by the Libs. The Left has the attitude that a "conversation" on controversial issues consists to them telling the other side what's what and expecting them to lie down for it. All in all a more dangerous situation than the people in the Capitol probably truly realize.

Interesting to hear comments that the instigators were Antifa types in disguise. The apologists for Antifa and BLM routinely say that most of the violence at their events is caused by MAGA infiltrators. Pot - Kettle???

    My devalued $.05.

P.S. On gun stuff, I hope you've got everything you need, especially in ammo. Don't expect things to get better for a couple of years at least.

The Duc D'Enghien was the legitimate heir to the throne of France. He was living in Holland, raising roses, and harming no one. But Napoleon obsessed over him and had him kidnapped and brought to Paris. He was shot by a firing squad the night he arrived.

It caused an uproar, and Napoleon was fiercely criticized, even by his friends. Tallyrand said something that rubbed Napoleon the wrong way and Napoleon rounded on him. "So, M'sieu Tallyrand! You, too think it was a crime!"

And Tallyrand replied, "It was worse than a crime, Your Majesty. It was a blunder."

This was a blunder on our part.

In suicide one walks up to the edge of the cliff and looks over the edge. Suicides' are tired, depressed people as a rule. Rational thinking has not clicked in so as the person look over the edge do they jump to end their pain or step back? I have seen it go both ways and this is what I am seeing now. Uncle Sam has two voices telling him what to do and he is confused. Uncle Sam is on the edge of the ledge of CIVIL WAR and trying to decide what to do. I wish I knew what he will do, professionally I see a funeral in the not too distant future for him...and us.

Referring to your thread from the DM talking about the large number of people who got out of the capitol without getting arrested.

When you put a link to a Daily Mail article, then paste much of the text of that article into your thread, it is hard for the reader to know what words belong to you, and what words belong to the article.

The guy in Pelozis chair is all but arrested and charged if not already. They know who he is and which group he belongs to. Photo of him in the office and with stolen mail. Left a handwriting sample behind as a note to Nancy.
Better to let him walk away in the crowd and avoid a confrontation. He's easy to find.

Meanwhile, after the investigators are finished with the office, it will need to be fumigated and sterilized. It was occupied by a disease ridden animal....and then there was that protester.

AP photographer on the news this morning was in the house chamber and described his experience. In spite of the dramatic nature of the questions, he remained calm and truthful. Almost anticlimactic in the face of the interviewers.
Never was in any fear whatsoever until the glass began to break. In a nutshell he described some congress critters keeping their cool while trying to ease the fears of the sheeples.
His photos are well known already. Pulitzer material if you ask me. He goes on to say that much of the "damage and mayhem" piles were photographed at 1am during the rapid cleanup phase. The protesters certainly weren't neat about it, but his photos are being g used in a manner to embellish the facts.

Cannot downplay the incident but the emotional intensity is being greatly exaggerated. For some, but others live in that mind frame and they pass laws.

And that's the problem -- we have given them something to exaggerate. Now we're painted as worse than BLM and ANTIFA combined.
