Been surfing YouTube and I see that some of the snake oil people are out harking again. Our economy is in direr straits, that is a given with many families hurting. My parents went thru the 1930's Great Depression and as a kid I remember their stories of living. My Dad was fortunate to have worked during the start and into the later 30's at a dairy and a bakery. Dad figured rightly that people need to eat and other's to meet their need.
Some of those who are talking about economic calamities are either selling "survival" goods or sponsored by someone selling gold/silver. I have to ask if gold/silver is so precious why are "they" willing to part with it for worthless paper currency? I always wondered about the "financial advisor" who worked at a lending institution. If they are so brilliant why are they working for an institution instead of making themselves more wealthy?
Last year I watched people panic buy, especially bread and I was amazed what fear was doing. We buy in large quantities and set back to save money, nothing else. The cost is cheaper in quantity then in individual.
This time of year I am more concerned with snow/polar vortex and my fuel supply then the stock market. This week we are bringing in another ton of fuel blocks and will continue to stockpile them. In about two months our supplier will no longer have them in stock due to carrying spring supplies.
