The guns and ammo buying frenzy is here to stay ...

It's certainly not going to ease up any while this new lot
stays in power especially if they go after the manufacturers.
Doesn't affect me nor I hope anyone here and I have a hard
time drumming up sympathy for those who want to buy but
can't. Probably gun grabbers or repenting gun haters anyway.
To show how bad the shortage is and the desperation it's
causing, I browsed through my ex favorite supplier just to
see. I was surprised to find that the 50 cal Great Plains
Hawken I bought years ago for $250 now goes for just under
$600. And all the muzzloaders are sold out, even flintlocks.
Only a lefty will have any luck at all.

The Ruger Vaqueros, even the Italian copies have dried up. Long waiting lists for the Vaquero. Slim pickings on the Eye-ties. Reminds me of the Dirty Harry craze when everyone wanted a Model 29. I had to wait a few years for supply to catch up and the prices to come down.

Looks like its going to be the same thing before I can get a 5.5 barreled, blued, 45 colt. I already have an Uberti, but I've had my eye on the Ruger for a while now.

Happy I don't own any firearms or ammo for such.

The new racks and display cases at my LGSs rather bare, but I see a good selection in the used racks. I am more concerned about the ammo shortages, since so many of the" malefactors of great wealth" are on the Left I am concerned they are buying up the ammo and firearms companies, and shutting them down.

Not to worry. If they do that, they won't stay wealthy.

Midsouth always had better prices than anywhere else
              except for powder.
What we shooters of old military BP rifles would have
done without 348 Winchester brass is hard to imagine.
The only brass I had to buy from Buffalo was for my
71 Mauser, all the others were formed from 348.

'Tag, Do you have a Snider?

Back in November I told a friend a local death merchant had primers and to buy a bunch and I would go get them. He didn't and will probably pester me for some.

No, no Snider. I have a few thousand "old" primers I got el cheapo but
about one in ten failed to go bang. Still a good deal.
                    Caps, I've got about 2000 and stacks of 2F & lead -
And I don't shoot anymore. I have to teach my Son reloading.
