The Feds Didn't Plan Very Well

It appears the security people in Washington are living in a glass house so to say. They didn't think that Trump supporters posed a threat so they didn't prepare very well. I keep asking myself what would happen is three vans of ISIS fighters just arrive out of the blue. Would normal security be able to safe guard those inside the Capital? Based on this performance I'd insist that I'd be authorized to carry.

    Really an interesting subject.

Muriel Bowser, DC Mayor, appeared to have learned some lessons from the Million MAGA March.

The Feds on the other hand still smarting after accusations of excessive military presence in the George Floyd protests, plus a political decision to have light security for these people.

The loss of life is regrettable, the property damage is regrettable, but by giving them freedom to act, we now know what they're prepared to do, how far they're willing to go.
There's a ton of value in that.

What I find interesting MSN is reporting on the topic. A retail store appears to be more secure. No roll down gates on the doors or windows etc.

Washington isn't the West Side. It shouldn't be necessary.

Who's they? You mean "those people". Yes, I'd say it was predominately white people. There's no patent on stupidity.

I would say someone didn't plan very well. There were 340(I kept seeing the figure) NG, but it was stressed, they weren't armed. Lord. They probably got in the way.

By "they" I mean the people who showed up that day and acted as they did. Most of the 70+ million voters for their candidate stayed home, felt no need to be there.

With DC corruption so rampant it's hard to tell who was in on the plot
and who wasn't. This is not a time where trust and honesty are taken for granted.
