    The expected inauguration chaos ...

will probably turn out to be a non starter. I hope.
Who in their right mind would want to go there with
the intention to cause trouble when twenty thousand
national guard troops are waiting with loaded weapons
with many inexperienced fingers on triggers ?
If enough crazies did go and things got chaotic, then
one fired shot from either side could result in bedlam.
    It's a worrisome scenario - let's hope there aren't any
    loose canons.

With that many protesters odds are there are a couple of loose cannons. Maybe not today, maybe not next week... So we keep armed patrols forever? Is Covid forever?
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Emotional people don't think straight. See Jan 6th for example.

Who would want to cause disorder, anyway? The people who support Biden don't want trouble, and the rest of us respect the Constitution.

Always attack when the enemy isn't looking. If anything happens its not going to be in Washington or a State capital.

People who participate in riots are probably not great tacticians.

The media stands to gain the most. They've sold enough circus tickets and are still hyping the countdown to anarchy. Nothing happens?
So? What? Commercial air time pays salaries and bonuses.
The anticlimactic bust of Geraldos Al Capone's vault fiassco caused some ridicule, but his paycheck sure looked great.
                      2016 Chicago Cubs. MLB Champions!

This mornings news had a guy that had a lot of poll numbers. Pretty scary(of course). Violence for years to come. Half of all R's think the R's that went with impeachment are traitors(that's not too surprising). Half of all R's don't recognize Biden as president(that's kind of goofy). I don't remember what all else he mentioned but it was all depressing.

No the participants aren't but those who organize and lead them are.

True, but I'd guess a mob would be hard to control beyond getting them to the target.
