Well, there goes the Military ...

Biden says transgenders can now join, which means queers,
non binaries (huh?) people who have a dong but wish they
didn't and those that don't but wish they did. Barracks are
going to become whorehouses, and it probably won't be too
long before the whole military comes down with Captain
    Ahab's disease "Moby Dick"

Undoing the Trump administration’s ban on trans people serving openly will be among President Biden’s “executive actions” in the “coming days and weeks.”

All right, maybe I'm exaggerating a little.

Transgenders get a lot more patriotic when the taxpayers are paying for the medication and the elective operations.

And we'll probably have a recruiting and retention crisis as we did under Carter and Clinton. You can be sure our enemies are watching closely.

In the good old days of the Royal Navy, the lads knew how to attend to each other's needs at sea without calling in specialists.

You forgot the Bush/Obama wars. Selective memory.

Carter was post-VN, the services were effectively broken. Clinton had the good economy plus Congress dropped back military spending after the cold war.

What's the mission for the US Military post-Trump? Parades and flyovers less important now, but does the mission need $700B a year? That existential question way more important than policies on sexual orientation, in my opinion.

As long as we the taxpayer isn't paying for their transformation surgery, medication requirements, mental health needs and they are fully deployable in their job then I don't care if these people want to take the oath and serve the country they live in.

That's what stopped it before. The cost of going from Joe to Jane or Jane to Joe is very expensive and the US military aka TAX PAYERS shelled out for it. I want my tax dollars to pay for ammo and such for our troops and not for some Shemale to finish molting!!!!

The question really should be, is there some reasons why gays and transgenders should not be allowed to put their life on the line for their country, the same as heterosexuals?

You want to share a foxhole with a queer boy ?
If you do, he'll want to show you his entrenching tool.

Let me re-word your question for you: Are there some reasons why one-legged men and people with only one lung, or old men in their 90s should not be allowed to put their life on the line for their country?

Military service is a DUTY, not a RIGHT. Therefore we pick and choose who we accept to ensure we get men and women who can carry out their duties and not impose a burden on the service.

In Ancient Greece the Thebans put their homosexuals into the Sacred Band, who were put in the front lines-the shock troops.
DoD regulations bar the overseas deployment of those who test HIV positive.
I like to quote a Marine Reservist who told a reporter "You only have to work with them. We have to live with them."
George Bernard Shaw suggested that conscription should start at age 60, those who start the wars should have to fight them.

It's a funny thing, but obesity is a bar to military service. Why should 400-lb fat guys not be allowed to put their life on the line for their country? I don't hear anyone beating the drum in favor of their right to serve.

Yet people who need special surgery, medication and therapy -- to the point where they are a net loss to the service -- somehow have a "right" to serve.

Do you need to bring up the British Navy?
