I understand 'climate change' so why don't they ? ...

By 'they' I mean politicians and their so smart advisors.
The Ice Age ended so the ice is melting. What exactly
is so hard to understand about that ? In time all the
ice will be gone and to try and stop that borders on the
insane. But you watch, Biden and his socialists will
cause havoc in an already shaky economy by putting
in place draconian measures in order to defeat Mother
Nature. Other idiots around the World will do the same
thing all of whom will get exactly the same result -
Ice melting resulting in sea level changes. They might
have better luck planning for that inevitability than
sodding around with carbon credits which will do nothing
more than enable another layer of corruption to flourish.

Who knows, Mother Nature might have a vindictive streak,
and if they mess with her too much she may just give us
    another ice age.

It's the rate of loss, DT.

If you're in an elevator descending from the top floor, and instead of falling at the expected rate of 10 mph you're falling at 60 mph, it becomes pretty clear that abrupt high rates of change do matter.

We are having a climate change now as the weather is going from rain to snow!

I don't think Mother Nature knows about elevators. Maybe you should explain it to her.

Well elevators like everything else in the universe follow nature's laws. But back to Climate Change, it's the suddenness of these occurrences that raises the alarms.

The question, of course, is CAN we stop or slow it? A little grocery store arithmetic will tell us the answer is probably no.

There will be good and bad effects of warming -- we should put our money into capitalizing on the good effects.

The suddenness is due to us becoming aware and new techniques for measuring it.
King Arthur wasn't aware of it, neither was Robin Hood. They had other more important
things to worry about. As do we.

I'll actually (well maybe ) care about climate change when someone can tell me how carbon credits really make a difference,

as in what bank does Mother Nature use?

and why can India and China get away with all pollution,, but we are expected to pay more,

and who profits from the Paris Accords?????,,,,, hint, it is not Mother Nature

A point I have made before. The problem is not in the US -- we have a better pollution signature than any other industrial nation except Canada. The low lying fruit in America has all been picked -- further "improvements" will be more and more expensive.

If we want to make progress, we have to do it in India and China.

Government efforts to control Climate Change have nothing to do
with the climate. It's an excuse to put into effect people control.

So what is government? It's the same excuse.

Stopping the Keystone pipeline will most likely reverse global warming. Or at least that makes as much sense as the reason given by Slo Joe for stopping it.

Government is for liberals! Conservatives (and anarchists) don't need it!
