How long do you think the covid-19 threat will last?

I think it will last a minimum of 2 more years and as long as 4 years. Democrats want to keep the covid around for election years.
BTW, a neighbor died in an auto crash. His death was caused by covid according to his death certificate shown by his wife. Reason? He had been tested positive for covid 3 months earlier! So much for all those covid deaths being recorded!

MT call me skeptical that a MVA death was attributed to Covid-19.

To your question....once everyone who wants a vaccine has got one, things will open up, gradually, as public confidence improves. The last 20% of holdouts will just have to deal. At present rates we're six months out from that. Democrats definitely want to head into the midterms as the party that beat covid-19, and the GOP might play into that.

do you remember not long ago when the UK reevaluated it's death toll?

seems some were placing most if not all deaths in the Covid Column, ,

      ditto here,

Normally a pandemic like this takes two to two and a half years to burn itself out. The 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic officially lasted from Feb 1918 to April 1920. I see no reason to expect anything different this time. The vaccines will lower the death toll but probably not shorten the course of the pandemic much.

I think COVID-19 will be around longer than two years for a number of reasons:

          1. It has spread worldwide
          2. Not unexpectedly, the virus has continued to mutate and produce variants, at least one of which seems to be less susceptible to control by some of the current vaccines. The good news is that vaccine manufacturers are already working on second generation versions of their vaccines to deal with this.
          3. It doesn't appear to be a "seasonal" disease like viral diseases such as the flu which tend to fade away in the summer.
          4. Many of those infected are asymptomatic so you can have carriers who don't know they are infected
          5. There will likely be a significant proportion of the population that won't want to take any of the COVID-19 vaccines.
          6. We really don't know how long the immunity from any of the vaccines lasts. It could be as little as a year, it could be much longer.

Last but not least, we don't know if China is working on COVID-21, COVID-22, or COVID-23. Don't know if it was intentional or not, but COVID-19 has allowed China to increase its world economic power and standing.

We may be looking at yearly COVID vaccinations that are tweaked from year to year to deal with strain shifts. I hope I am wrong, but I think we will still be dealing with COVID in 2024. We will learn how to do a better job of living with it, but I don't think we will eliminate it in a year or two.

It will continue to be around for many years as long as we keep allowing illegals into our country. They can also create other epidemics since they are also bringing in diseases which we no longer have. Just some of the many examples now coming across the border include measles, mumps, chicken pox , drug resistant tuberculosis, diphtheria, etc.

My State said that in January, 5000 people died from covid! That is the normal death rate for any month for any reason!

The Trump COVID virus will live as long as the Democrats want it to. Remember that CNN said Trump could not spell vaccine and it would be over 3 years before a vaccine could be produced

The Democrats want as many more people to die as possible so they can blame Trump.

                  Heil Biden!

Aw, that's just silly. Actually, not just silly, but insulting. I'm not a democrat so I'm not politicly insulted. As a normal human being I'm insulted.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

The one that is starting to be seen is violence from the "right" and the need to suppress by censorship by big tech.

Maybe Biden will declare 'martial law'? To protect us, of course!

People quickly recognized that HIV was a sexually transmitted disease and those most at risk were so because of their own improper behavior.
In the case of Covid-19 they'd like to time the "recovery" just in time for the 2022 elections.
