Why should ex Presidents get intelligence briefings ? ...

Once you're out of office, what's the point of continuing to get
them ? They can't be of any use to an ex President so why ?
I'm assuming that all living exes get them, not just the last
one, so what earthly good can there be in giving Jimmy Carter
    that kind of info ?

Why should James Comey and John Brennan receive intelligence briefings also?

Not reckless at all if done correctly.

Put something made up in there about company X, then watch Trump's inner circle play the stock market on that company.

Who would claim that couldn't possibly happen, when it did a year ago as the first wave of covid-19 came over the bow and those in government with inside knowledge and trading portfolios made out like bandits?

Biden's people won't do it though, they're too square.

There it is.......the Second Commandment from The Book of Trump:

Though shalt never find blame in, nor hold responsibility to, the actions of Our Lord Donald.

In other words it's always someone else's fault.

Everyone understands and agrees that no good can come from giving Trump classified briefings. The best outcome would be the one from his time in office: they go unread.

Ummm!! 'Ol Hillary, in her book "Why I lost", said the same thing! Se blamed any and all persons and probably a neighbors dog as to why she lost. She never once considered her past corruption and the Benghazi tradgety!

                        Word salad for lunch?

I'm just pointing out by illustration, what the OP, DT in this case, already knows in his bones: classified intel to Trump is at best useless and at worst bad for Trump.

Are you arguing otherwise? If so then the TDS is yours, not mine.

no, I'm not arguing anything at all,

you however, seem to support a lack of integrity and even Entrapment to prosecute Trump or his supporters,,,,

I find that interesting,, and it says a lot ,,,

did you ever take a moment and look into your selections (the D party congress critters etc) investments?

DT if not mistaken we are staying on topic, and aren't you done with the thread anyways?

Anyways, Lyman, I don't think you're seeing the bigger picture here, with regards to ex-Presidents and security and entrapment. They walk out of that building (the White House) with a lot in their heads. It stands to reason besides personal security, their electronic world, transactions, etc., are under surveillance. They are a person of interest to foreign governments, hence US national security demands that our government keep an eye on them as well. Easy sell to any FISA court.

So say Trump decided to sell or donate (in exchange for future considerations) some of what he knows to the Israelis or the Saudis, and the US government starts to get wind of that. Would it be entrapment to give him a briefing, but add a tracer message in there (something like "Midway desalination plant is busted") to see if that message pops up elsewhere? Is that entrapment or tradecraft?

Entrapment is encouraging someone to commit an illegal act, facilitating it, then charging them for the commission afterwards. Trump spilling beans on intel given him in the context as ex-President, is not entrapment. All they have to do to guarantee that is put in a slide saying "Shh! This stuff is secret! Remember not to tell anyone!" If they gin up a message that is extra juicy, to see what he does with it, that is still not entrapment.
