    "We'll circle back on that"

Biden's press secretary is really 'dummer than a rock' She has all the questions before hand and still cannot come up with answers! Her 3rd grade speaking ability is full of AHs and UMs and we'll circle back on that. She obviously did not participate in high school speech classes or most likely flunked them!

In fairness there are a lot of issues in play right now and a backlog of unanswered questions from the (single term) Trump Administration, who saw reporters as the enemy. So it's easy right now to win at "stump the press secretary".

Have you noticed that when she get's miffed she brushes her hair back.

If she can't handle a friendly Press, just imagine how long she would have
survived had she been Trump's Press Secretary.

Exactly! Having the press as a foil conditioned the base to not believe. It was deliberate, and worked like a charm on 40% of the country, who are now at war with their own party over what it is supposed to be about.

My sense is she handles them fine. But reporters like to spread out. On any given day she may not be ready to answer a question from left field on the administration's position on endangered mushrooms in the Shenandoah Valley. Hence the oft-used circle-back line.

I don't see her as trying to win the news cycle so much as just keep White House messaging on the blacktop for another day, in a marathon-not-sprint way.

Adversarial attitudes are usually met with some pushback.

Playing to an audience of 1 vs. 350 million set up the negative exchanges.

as a true believer, you will never understand what the press has done for the past 12 + years,

Is it called "stumped" when you have the questions beforehand and still can answer them? I can really see that Trump caused that problem too.

Kayleigh McEnany had to deal with a hostile press corps every day that hated Trump , and never stood there stuttering and stammering or "circling back".

Jim Acosta is now writing a book about what a douche bag he was at every Trump press conference.

Ms. Not -mecany-sense had a big note book of sharpie notes to pivot from.

So does the present press secretary, but watch her try to find something in it. She ends up having to circle back. To be fair the reporters should ask the questions one day, and then come back the next day for an answer.

Do you think the press secretary is the same person every day? The hair color sure isn't the same every day.

                            Turn the audio up.

Again, reporters can ask real questions now, in the hope of getting an answer. They're kids in a candy store.

The problem with the reporters at the Trump briefings was they didn't ask question, but made statements. Orange, purple, fuchsia haired girl likes to answer question with a question. Oldest trick in the book to dodge question you can't answer.
