I do recall the complaint that some people seemed to be rooting against Trump, no matter what, and this was felt to be wrong, because Trump was our President.
Which is a fair critique, both then and now.
My feelings towards Trump were no secret, but I was always open to the possibility that he could be good at his job despite his personal handicaps. Again, the same sentiment can be expressed towards Biden, yes?

Biden can't help his condition, but did Dr. Jill Biden want to be first lady so bad that she let her husband expose his condition and all the ridicule that was bound to come with it? His job requires that he speak to the nation, and he has to stumble through an incoherent charade before the nation.Comment

I can't believe you wrote this! Because for 4 four years ever since and even before Trump was elected, and probably about 50% of your posts you constantly knocked Trump and found fault with him .Comment

Remember there's always that gap between the mind of the writer and that of the reader, also called reading in things that aren't necessarily there. Over the years here I've been accused of being all kinds of things which I am in fact not. True of others here as well.
Politically speaking more broadly, no doubt the shoe being on the other foot will make for awkward moments on many sides....people criticizing policies they once supported, or vice versa.Comment

Criticizing the living sh*t out of a politician is by no means mutually exclusive with wanting them to do a better job. In my view at least, which is admittedly far less tribal than yours.I can't believe you wrote this! There were some intriguing openings that Trump created with his penchant for throwing curve balls, sowing chaos. Alas his deep game was deficient, as he is too impulsive to win the long negotiation. He also doesn't do multy-party deals... everything has to be bilateral or he dislikes his odds (perhaps a fear the other parties will compare notes).Comment

Let's hope not. Let us focus on performance, not on personality. We have seen the damage to this nation caused by unreasoning hatred and obstructionism -- let us not commit the same sin!Comment
