Well apparently a lot of people do, especially leftists, but why exactly
is a mystery to me. Are we supposed to go at loggerheads with a
Mideast anti-Iranian ally because someone who only a few had ever
heard of had his head chopped ? So what's all the fuss about and
are there not a lot more things to concern an administration than a
year old murder, especially of a foreigner ?

Khashoggi was a US resident (but not a citizen). The killing took place in Istanbul. Just what jurisdiction we have over this is puzzling.

I don't know anyone in the mid-east. If fifty million of them got zapped it wouldn't disturb me for more than a minute or so.
Now, if I had kids and my son(some how) married a beautiful Iranian(whatever) girl and her family got wiped out I'd be distraught a little longer.

The media cares because he was one of their own. One may choose to sympathize or not, but that motive is at least comprehensible. In any case the Saudi regime is revealed for the thugs that they are. Something the women who live there have known forever.
