Democrat-Led House Passes H.R.1, Aimed to Federalize U.S. Elections

Apparently makes it easier to cheat by mail and reduce the power of the states to control and operate elections at the local level...

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed H.R. 1, otherwise known as the “For the People Act,” which Republicans warn will compromise election integrity and ultimately lead to the federalization of U.S. elections.

The Democrat-led House passed the legislation on party lines, 220 to 210. A summary of the bill notes that it “expands voter registration (e.g., automatic and same-day registration) and voting access (e.g., vote-by-mail and early voting)” and imposes limits on removing voters from voter rolls.

Republicans have warned that the Democrat legislation would vastly reduce the power of the states to control and operate elections at the local level.

Why don't they just pass a bill saying, "Democrats always win, no elections needed?"

          Cheating as in....getting more voters?

Because the claims of wholesale level cheating don't hold up, and retail level cheating shows no political bias and only in very rare cases rises to the level of affecting outcome. That is the reality of the matter.

Not said as a Democrat (big D), but as someone who believes the parties should compete for a large electorate, not find ways to shrink it. That is, a believer in the power of small-d democracy as being more durable in the long run than kings or autocrats.

As Lyman said, its the first step of total control. Elimination of the Electoral College and go from there,

Interesting to see how the Supremes call this. All their refusals to hear challenges to the fraud have been 'it's the state assemblies authority to run elections'. Not sure if the critters can redo the states' responsibility w/o an Amendment.
