My opinion is that if you don't want them coming here then dry up the day wage cash economy. There is way more money in cash wages than county welfare checks.

But the businessmen (and rich couples wanting a nanny or maid) usually have connections.

Now if you made hiring an illegal have some sting to it then the Republican party would have to get real about some kind of immigration reform as a realistic alternative to the liberal bleeding heart stuff.

I had a boss who moved north from Texas where he was born-and-raised who talked about how easy it was to find day labor that was obviously from south of the border. Sometimes way way south but it didn't matter to him because he got his sod laid.

If not mistaken Obama was willing to raid plants, which made him unpopular with both the bleeding heart and businessmen classes.
