    No borders, no country!

    No borders, no country

Everyone, and especially Togor should read this whole article..

Before the lockdown, the Left took a wrecking ball to our economy last year, we were enjoying one of the greatest expansions of economic opportunity in

Was just reading a religious book decrying the immorality of the times and saying what was what brought down the Roman Empire.

Wrongo! The orgies and other practices that fascinated and horrified Gibbons were no longer tolerated in Rome -- which was now a Christian empire. What brought down the Roman Empire was unrestricted immigration.

Actually when Trump said in a 2016 stump speech "either you have a country or you don't" I perked up and listened, but ultimately he couldn't go anywhere with the thought, couldn't bring it to any rational conclusions that had a chance in the long run. Way too much ADHD going on there.

I've read Gibbon. He wrote about a lot more than the pagan era. Maybe that's the part you remember though?

Anyways you're omitting the fact that tribes were driven east to the borders of the empire like dominos fleeing Atilla the Hun's armies. The German front (it seems that every empire gets a German front sooner or later) was awash in new bodies. It can be argued that the Romans did well to hold out as long as they did.

                Of course I did!!!

Context.... Trump's speech was about not just borders, but also policies rooted in the national interest.

That link of yours breathlessly declares that we're going to be awash in gangs, rapists, murderers, drug dealers, welfare cheats, all jabbering in a foreign tongue because Biden is standing down at the border. Hyperbole? Maybe a little, LOL.

You singled me out so I post....

Trump was never completely wrong about the border, but that Miller guy always had him on the low road following his darkest impulses. Biden isn't completely wrong either but he's playing with fire if he gets all squishy about the border without a policy to keep them at home in Nicaragua or Honduras or Mexico or wherever.

The dims are cultivating votes for the future. Whatever befalls the country is secondary to their desire to have a socialistic society with their always being in charge. The U.S. can rot and go to hell as long as they are in charge.

I'm sorry but that pretty much is the GOP position on the pandemic, which was the #3 cause of death in the US last year. The other party is at least trying to get a grip on this thing and get it behind us, in part by not turning to pillow salesmen for advice! (Although the pillow salesman was far less damaging than the radiologist who thought we should give the virus as many chances to mutate as we can as his master strategy.)

Biden has to be careful on the border, but Trump's wall would do nothing about the multitudes who show up at a checkpoint asking for asylum. That's where Congress needs to get off its butt in a bipartisan way.
