I suggest that the real issue to consider is whether someone tripping is a newsworthy event. If the person is "important" and is injured and therefore cannot function in his or her job, then that might be newsworthy. Otherwise it is just an attempt to fill empty space in the paper or empty airtime and to create "news" out of nothing. That's not journalism; its fiction writing.

Newsworthy enough that a White House spoke person attributed his rolling around on the stairs as the result of high winds in the area. At least the high winds didn't disturb his hair. Certainly nothing fictitious about what was recorded.
