Australia suffering a biblical-like plague of Mice ...

When they number in the millions, clog up machinery, crap on your pillow,
and destroy crops they're no longer cute little critters. People are trapping
them in huge numbers of up to 500 every night.

Locals who have endured months of mice and rats getting into their houses, stores and cars are praying heavy rain will help wipe them outWarning: graphic images may disturb some readers

Catch 'em and eat 'em. Probably tricky things to prepare for the pot,
much like reloading a 17 Remington.

Like a Mice Cube. That's a clear plastic trap. It has a door hinged at the top, and longer than the internal height of the cube -- so a mouse can enter by pushing on it, but can't get out that way. Put a little peanut butter in there, and you'll catch plenty of mice.

The instructions say to take the cube outside, turn it upside down and let the mouse go.

    Yean. Like THAT's gonna happen!!

How does the mouse know to push on the door ? Is there a sign saying "Push" ?

I let ones that I catch go - but somewhere else.

This is coincidental. Just two days ago I got my truck back from the shop after the engine warning light came on. A packrat had built an entire nest in some compartment and finally chewed through a wire.
This is the third vehicle I've owned that has been disabled by rodents. I keep traps around the place and now I keep rodent pellets in the engine bays of my cars. We don't have hundreds running around but there are a few. The neighbor has a garden and he sees them once in a while.

It's written in very small letters.

The mouse can smell the peanut butter, and mice are very good at figuring out how to get to food. Not so good at figuring how to get out.

I let one go the other day,
he was startled when i opened the door to the shed I have outback ,

thought of stomping him, but he/she/they decided to jump out and under the shed,

stupid move, the neighbor's cat is a decent mouser and hangs out around that shed,,,

I release them into the woods about 1/2 mile away, blindfolded.
Any closer and they might find their way back.
They're kinda cute except for those beady black eyes, Spooky.

I drop them off at the animal shelter. The cats love them.

After $2000 worth of damage I smack them with a shovel. Actually, I never see them and don't get to smack them. I did find one still alive in a trap. Big scary rat. I shot it with the .22 air gun. I like bunnies and puppies.
