Racism - Francisco Suarez, the current Mayor is a Republican. That might have something to do with it.

Interestingly, Suarez is the only Mayor of Miami who was actually born in Miami.

No, just a different method of dealing with covid which seems to have worked about as well as anybody else's method. The mob scenes in South Florida sure aren't going to help with that though, we'll see if there's much effect in a few weeks on that.
