      There are too many problems associated with fuel cell vehicles to make them a reality any time soon. Too many safety concerns, not to mention availability, to overcome before a fuel cell vehicle becomes a viable choice.

        There is a lot of myth and wishful thinking regarding electric cars

        In the eyes of the Greens, an electric car is non-polluting. In reality, if electricity in a given area is generated by coal, that is not exactly true. In addition, there are some significant environmental issues relating to the ultimate disposal of the batteries. I also understand that electric cars use more energy in their production than do similar sized conventional vehicles.

          And they use more energy when operating -- the loss of power in transmission alone makes them less environmentally-friendly than a gasoline-powered car.
