Also could have been prevented if the officer had properly differentiated between a taser and a Glock.

In any tragedy there is always a chain of events leading up to it. But what you are doing is what cops always do when they eff up....they pin blame on the civilian by picking out a specific moment in that chain of events where the civilian wasn't perfect.

Think about that for a sec....what kind of country do we have if the rule is...if you're not perfect with the cops, then you get what you get and it's all on you.

Tell me that doesn't sound like some crazy police state from a bad dystopian novel.

I lived in Brooklyn Center for about 9 months, many years ago. Just a nondescript suburb off of I-694.

No you have it back words...It WOULD have been prevented, not COULD have been prevented, if he had not jumped in his car and tried to drive away....

In almost every police shooting, there's that thing called resisting arrest. The media shows it. Its seen on the cell phone video prior to editing. Quite often the police are in a higher state of alert when it known there is an outstanding warrant. That isn't a paperwork technicality. Its an indication of the persons respect for the law.
Simple rule on the mean streets dictates to just keep your hands seen and answer a few questions. In less than a minute its all over and you can go on your way. They can't even mind that simple rule.

"Judge a man not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character".
Almost all shot revealed their character in a negative manner. Yet its ignored. Only excuses and an excuse to take to the streets before the fact are known. That alone reveals character having $hit for a soul.

It is not a protest. Its an excuse for anarchy. The demands for justice reflect the mentality of a lynch mob. Facts are being investigated but their minds are made. Arrest, conviction, and penalty, NOW. "In 24 hours!"
No room in their minds for any sort of due process. So they loot on behalf of someone done wrong?

That is an excuse. Not a reason.

There does come a time when its time to fight fire with fire. When the flowery speeches, concessions, and payoffs can't keep the barbarians from the gates....

It was clearly a mistake but a deadly one. People get mad Ray because they know at this point that the system will protect the cop as much as it can and shrug off the dead black guy. Two lives became linked, and it is about to become quite clear which one matters more to the system.

And that's why they protest, because they don't understand why when it comes to life and death, the police have all the power and so little accountability.
If that idiot criminal black kid had respected the officers instead of runni g away he would be alive today! I have no compassion for him or ilk like him!

There IS an alternative for cops to use and it's non fatal. It's called the BYNA CO2 powered self defence gun that shoots tear gas pellets that will put a big person in seconds. It is much less expensive than a Glock.

Same problem as with the taser -- it looks and feels like a gun, and a cop under stress reaching for it may get a gun instead.
