Ungrateful to who, I wonder. All of my kids have expressed gratitude for the support we gave them while they were riding the catapult. And all of them are aloft on their own power now.

I sometimes hear these gripes about how schools are preaching to kids that all races and cultures need to learn to get along. Is that really a terrible idea? Is it not also what employers want in their workers? Someone tell me, what better lesson is there to teach?

Yeah....how not to act like an idiot or jerk or worse if someone encounters people from other backgrounds. Given the workplace these days, that's as practical as any of them. Military expects it too. Nothing wrong with laying down expectations in grade school along those lines.
