As I mentioned in another thread. The little eleven and a half year old shown in media photos was not the gunman the officer chased down an alley. Unknown to the policeman at the time, the 13 year old he was chasing was a tattooed gang member known on the street as Lil Homicide. A suspect in three previous shootings.
Freeze frame shows an empty hand. Reality is the gun was there as he turned on the officer. Let it go as he was raising his hands in one quick movement. At the point where his hand showed empty the bullet fired in self defence was already commited on target. In that freeze frame, his weapon was just touching the ground.

Outspoken community leaders both Black and Spanish are on record saying the elimination of foot pursuit is ludicrous. Just let them get away to shoot another day?
Nobody wants to hear the truth when the hyperbole is more exciting. Lightfoot has a soft spot being the mother of a 13 year old herself. Letting her feelings for her daughter (who is a good kid ) equate her to a juvenile delinquent on equal terms.

Lightfoot is indeed pandering as a result. Knowing the majority of Chicagoans are Spanish or of Spanish descent. With her blinders on, she cannot comprehend the more senior police officers leaving the Department while coming up short on candidates for the Academy.
The spin is on the not so cream of the crop having multi colored faces and genders coming up. That's what the most important for her and the Chicago Machine she used to despise.

A few nights ago, I told a group of cops that I didn't know jack squat about law enforcement so that qualifies me to head the committee on police reform. Wish you guys could have been there to catch the reaction to that!
