What did this teacher say about George Floyd to be suspended?

I'm just curious as I must be missing something!

"Alaska high school teacher is suspended for telling Zoom class that George Floyd 'would still be alive' if he had complied with police and 'sidled into their car'

A teacher caught on camera telling her students over Zoom that George Floyd would still be alive if he complied with police officers has been suspended

The Lathrop High School teacher was talking to her students in a 15-minute video posted to YouTube about police killing black people

It is unclear how the conversation started
In the video, the teacher, identified as 'Ms. Gardner,' said police do not have time to choose between their gun and a taser in interactions

She later insinuates that the students should be OK because they do not dress like 'thugs' with their 'pants around their knees'

She was just telling it like it was! Using common sense! Another example of how the 1st Amendment is being shut down by democrats!

What works for old white ladies seems a bad bet for teenagers, maybe. Consequently her teaching old lady rules to kids may not fly with parents or admin. Doesn't seem like she meant any harm though.

Not everyone has the experience of cops behaving rationally during a stop, and when those videos reach the web, it complicates matters, because....

Some people, Ray, hard though you may find this to believe, are terrified of what the police will do to them if they ever get caught alone. Not talking criminals either. There are ordinary Americans who flat-out cannot bring themselves to trust police. They're like anti-vaxxers, except for cops. So meek obedience in a stop is not on the menu for such people. Cops in my opinion need to see this for what it is and not make it worse, because the cameras are rolling.

Ok first let me say this again.. First I know not all cops are without sin.. but again.. those are just a very tiny percent of the many thousands of officers who go to work every day and do a decent job and especially under the bad light presented by the anti police news, the libs, BLM, and those law breakers who got caught and who now hate the police and don't forget no lets not forget the criminals! And we should not forget the possible dangers they may face ever day that most people don't have to!.. I have presented the toll of killed and injured officers before so I won't show it again this time. But because of reasons I stated above, the police get a bad rap and the some people buy into it!

          I hear you Ray,

But like I said, some people are just anti-vaxxers, except for police. They want nothing to do with law enforcement, are afraid of what cops would do "if they got the chance." In some places, there's a history that backs it up.

          That's just the reality.

Teachers would be smart in my opinion to steer clear of the subject altogether. But if I had to say something about police to kids, with cameras rolling, I'd say:

The police are there to do a job, not be anyone's friend. Society needs someone to do that job otherwise things would break down. Your best bet is to conduct your own business in a way that doesn't overlap with police business. If you do overlap, try to stay calm because the calmer you are the calmer the police can be. There are no guarantees when dealing with police but you should still play your best odds.

I think that is safe advice, but some teenagers would argue that the police seem to target them and I cannot tell those kids with certainty that they're wrong. All I can say is, targeted or not, play your best odds.

Added: staying calm and compliant is a good strategy for surviving the moment. But probably not the best strategy for exposing poor police conduct. Take the stop of the army Lieutenant in Virginia. He actions fell into the grey area between compliance and outright refusal, and he paid the price for it, in getting sprayed and taken to the ground. But in so doing he exposed for the body cams the overreacting of the police to the situation.

I'd rather live in a country where people value their freedom and are skeptical of law enforcement attempts to detain them, rather than a country where people meekly submit to authorities. Same for you?

Yep, the truth hurts the people that tell lies. 1st Amendment is long gone as is equal application of the law.

Teachers must avoid 'this' but aren't required to avoid 'that'.
Personal friend of mine recently pulled her youngest of four out of school. Teacher had the class pounding on their desks screaming Trump hate slogans along with practicing anti police chants.
This was supposed to be a math class.
When confronted, the school officials justified the behavior with a plethora of PC excuses. The excuse which carried the most weight in their eyes?
"Well she is black AND she is Muslim".

Y'all can take it from there....

Besides most Republicans, there must be some Democrats that can also see that the path the far left folks are taking the country to, and that direction, will eventually destroy the country! Which of course is what the left wants to do!
