Update to US Army's grooming policy was announced Thursday

Just curious what's the difference allowing women to have pony tails but not men..Lol

Female Army soldiers will now be allowed to wear their hair in ponytails and braids in all uniforms - but men STILL can't grow beards Despite increased flexibility in the grooming standards of female soldiers, male members of the US Army will not be allowed to wear earrings and they still have to shave however, men will be able to wear clear nail polish and be able to dye their hair.

Female soldiers can now wear their hair in singly ponytails and braids while in uniform; they were previously required to tie hair into tight buns

In February, US Army also announced other changes to their grooming policies, allowing female soldiers to wear nail polish, lipstick and earrings
Male soldiers are not allowed to wear lipstick or colored nail polish, and they must still shave despite standards being relaxed for women

actually, men can have some facial hair,

friend is a reservist (CW4) and was telling me if you get the Chaplain to sign off on religious practices, if allowed by your religion you can grow facial hair,

he was contemplating whatever religion a Viking is, so he could grow a beard,

he was doing CW reenacting at the time, and the mustache/goatee or beard was period correct,

now he does mostly WW2 and WW1 German, so clean shaven is expected
