Interesting Case Out of Huntsville, AL

    https://www.al.com/news/2021/05/dang...der-trial.html

2018, a man is suicidal, calls 911, police are dispatched. One officer is at the door for 5 minutes trying to talk the guy out of pulling the trigger of the gun at his head. The third-arriving officer on the scene does not wait around, and sends the suicidal caller to the Great Beyond in seconds.

Huntsville City Fathers and the department declared it an acceptable shooting, but a jury disagreed. The now-convicted LEO is adamant that if he sees a gun on someone, then they are a threat.

It probably will be appealed....He has a loaded gun in his hand which he refuses to when ordered to drop. It would only take a split second for him to turn the gun and shoot an officer. I might go along with the female cop if the officers had some protection to get behind. Easy for someone not there to judge what they would do..

In my minds eye I see a hostage situation. Like Cleavon Little in 'Blazing Saddles'.
That one I actually saw. This latest one I didn't.
