National Covid Eff-It Day Will Soon Be Here

Won't be long before enough folks are vaccinated, and everyone who wants the shot has got it, so all the restrictions are waived. From that point, if people get sick, it's their own damn fault.

I had been thinking July 4 but now I could see it by Memorial Day.

Pardon me, but I'm missing the gist.
Who will be celebrating? Those of us who took the threat seriously or those in the hoax and refusal crowd saying "I told you so".

I made the choice to sidestep a fatal outbreak by getting a barely tested vaccine with a short track record. Others around me opted for favoring the odds in the other direction.
I won't be ready to celebrate. Not anytime soon. The others are chomping at the bit to get going by tossing all restrictions to the rubbish. This covid crap won't be over that soon in spite of some wanting to believe it is.

Pelosi just said "Everyone will wear a mask". Vaccine or not!

JB I applaud your (usual) level-headed approach to Covid.

But the vaccine #'s seem to be coming in, several hundred million doses in the US, and the dang thing (vaccine) works better than they hoped.

So it's in that spirit that the CDC has decided, for once, to get ahead of the issue.

No sense in holding things back in a futile attempt to get another 30M folks vaccinated, if they're determined to not get the shot. If the vax gives at least 6 solid months of immunity, then might as well start using that immunity now, right?

As for mutations, what most people don't get is that unvaccinated Americans are a drop in the bucket of the world's unvax'd population, so no sense worrying about it.

For the hoax folks.....shrug, if they get it they get it, if they don't they don't.

Pretty much how I'm looking at it.

From the "no sh*t, Sherlock" department:

Yeah people who don't have the shot are going to drop their masks too. That's kind of the point. We are past the need for experts on this. We weren't a year ago, when Trump wanted them all stood against a wall and shot. But we are now. And no, let's not shoot them, just put them in cold sleep until the next big pandemic.

And don't get me started about the hand-wringers who declare that it's America's job to drop everything and vaccinate the rest of the world, starting in the country where their parents or other family still live (if anyone catches my drift).

Fauci's okay, he calls it like he sees it. Not like many politicians playing to their base.

And around here, TDS is now something else entirely, and you know that's true.

                      I call it TDS because:

                      1. You have to respond to every single post I make

                      2. Your responses are aimed at me and not the topic.

Is there a better term for it? Can't think of a shorter one.

I suppose your ego is bound to disagree and we'll have to leave it there.

But if I see TDS I'm gonna call it out.

It's okay for you to not like Fauci, but changing views to match new data is what a good scientist does. You'd rather he just imagine God telling him things?

                          1. Fauci is a liar who has become a millinaire in the last year.
                          2. Trump got the vaccine going, not Joe who is taking the credit. The vaccine doses that Trump built up by the hundreds of thousands are the ones being used now.
                          3. There are still rigid restrictions for wearing masks and the 6 foot rule!
                          4. That electric Ford truck costs $70,000.
                          5. Ford Motor Co. has donated big bucks to support BLM looters.

MT it is true that Trump got the US at the front of the line for the vaccines that are working out the best. Some combination of good luck and good policy, and he stayed out of it, except to bitch at Pfizer when he thought they were holding up results.

The thing is, Trump voters as a group are less interested in getting the shot than Biden voters.

So it's an odd thing, that something Trump did really right for the country as a whole is barely celebrated by his base. To some, that kinda proves their point about his base.

I know no fewer than a dozen Trump voters in real life who have no intention of getting the shot. Reasons vary, from the thing being too sudden to worries about sterility. Some had a mild case of Covid so they're not worried about it. Glad to say I know no one who is worried about THE MICROCHIP (shhh!)
