I've wondered how these moratoriums work.

The housing bubble is out of sight. A Realtor on the news said she had never seen anything like it(AZ). One house went up for sale and there were over 30 higher bids. Lots people have lots of money and lots of people have little money.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

... way too early to say what the past four months have done . But why don't you ask the same question of the past four years ?

As a small time self employed for the past eight years, the past four years certainly did not improve for me . My business expenses rose far greater the past three years than I could pass on to my clients. My business could have grown no end if I could have enticed people to come to work, and double the minimum wage was no incentive. But the wonderful unemployment benefits worth more than actually working were offered when ?? .... I ask again ... when ? ....I'll tell you straight up it was more that three months ago .

looking at my numbers I'm going to have to say that at the end of the day .... I was far ahead of the game four years ago than i was four months ago ..,

but then , I don't play the stock market .... I just do an honest blue collar work effort.... as such I'd go back five years in a heartbeat ,

You had posted basically the same thing several times before and as I said before! ..If you are in a losing situation as you had said a few times now, you need to attempt to change your business, product or trade direction instead of staying in it.... If you are in a losing enterprise as you say you are, you should try to get out of it? I know easier said then done..but in the end the solution is up to you..

Well the solution is indeed very simple Ray .... I've just sold the business and as the contract stands I am a retired man come July ,

It was never a point of being in a losing situation ... the point is that as a working guy I was doing so much "better" financially four years earlier... that is the part you keep ignoring . And what I keep trying to explain. Did I do better as a working small time business under Trump ... or under Obama. Sorry, but it's under Obama hands down. Like it or not, but 8 years of business and bank statements don't lie

And that was what the OP was asking about.... except in a more confined time frame

If a company takes over another company it's a tectonic shift. The co. I worked for took pride in the number of old folks they still had working there. When they got absorbed by the Europeans all that changed. It was just at the beginning of the Great Recession(maybe good timing) and dozens got laid off(or fired so to speak) every quarter. They stopped short of the branch of old ladies that worked with ordinance. Big mistake(I could be off on this but it's my story). When something went off unexpectedly at a demonstration at Ft. Bragg it was a world wide shutdown. They didn't just fire the old ladies, they moved the whole operation to another state that had a modern facility. Change is good and required.

Okay Sandpp having everyone read your three almost the same, long posts over those several weeks of your business problems and in which you were offered some possibly ideas to try to help... but in the end it turns out that your posts were were just pro democrat political posts in disguise! You just wasted some peoples time, including mine, by reading them and even in trying to offer help! Not nice...

I worked at J.I.Case co. for 40 years and retired from there. Our plant in Burlington, IA was known as "The Backhoe Capital of the World". Then, in the 90's Fiat took over and things went progressively downhill. We used to have over 1200 workers on three shifts. Fiat chose to send to Mexico several good paying jobs and have the 'finished' parts brought back to IA. Problem was the Mexican work was so screwed up we had to 'repair' everything that came from Mexico. Hundreds of workers were laid off and the good remaining piece work jobs were 'retimed' to the point that daily quotas couldn't be met which caused slow downs on the assembly line. Case co. is now called CNH and the backhoes are not as good as they were 30 years ago.

glad to hear you have sold that business,

                      now you can relax,

as a small business owner, and someone who managed locations for a couple of big businesses,, I can say your problems are not related to who is in office,
more like who runs the business and who is in Congress/Senate
