Then why complain about the press if you accept a range of coverage both critical and non-critical as a normal and healthy part of national life? Clearly the founders embraced an adversarial press as a counterbalance to government power.

Nobody likes their event rained-out but everyone understands that rain has to fall sometime. Nothing wrong with Trump (or Biden) being put through the wringer. The difference is Trump chose the press as an enemy for political reasons in a way that Biden does not feel a need.

Again you always put words in what I posted! You do so all the time.. I did not say I accept it! I just said I read both sides and form my own opinion.. Either you don't closely read my posts or you just add what you want it to say....

Objective Adversarial press is a good thing.

Fawning, buttkissing, ass covering press is what we have.

Imagine if Trump had joked about running over a reporter?

Note how print media "corrected" dementia Joes botched joke at the USCG Academy regarding the "hard nucleus of the Navy". The White House corrected quote department changed his spoken dementia language so that in print it was correct in the one account I have checked out.

What you said above is not the case today.. As the press is no longer neutral but has taken on a political view/side

And that is the crux of the problem and a violation of the freedom of press doctrine in my opinion.
