    The age old question

I am not the author but whole heartedly agree.

After watching Phil today, I sat down and had another cold beer. The day was quite beautiful, and my drink facilitated some deep thinking. My wife walked by and asked what I was doing. I said, "Nothing." Now the reason I said "nothing" instead of saying "just thinking" is because she then would have asked, "Thinking about what?" At that point I would have had to explain that men are deep thinkers about various topics, which would lead to other questions. She left me alone. After another beer I pondered the age old question: What is more painful, giving birth or getting kicked in the nuts? Women always maintain that giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts, but how could they know? Well, after another beer or two, and some more heavy deductive thinking, I have come up with the answer to that question. Getting kicked in the nuts is more painful than having a baby. Even though I obviously couldn't really know, here is the reason for my conclusion: A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, "It might be nice to have another child." I have never heard a guy say, "You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts." I rest my case. Time for another beer.

I can't recall the source but I heard there was actually a study done on that. Findings were men can suffer the same, if not greater pain passing a stone as a woman giving birth.
FWIW, anyone who would let researchers hook up receptors to measure pain levels probably isn't in as much pain as they feel. Whether giving birth or passing stone, if the pain threshold is at max...
There will be more people feeling a lot of pain before that nonsense is over!

I inherited them from my mother,

she told me the pain was equal or worse with the stones,
I figure she is a good qualified source for that info,

she had several that needed to be zapped to get out,
fortunately, I am able to pass mine

It all depends upon which type of stones you're having problems with. Citrus acid helps to keep most stones from forming too large to pass.
After having some severe problems I tried it. Doesn't take much. For me its just a squeeze of lime into a glass of club soda on a daily/near daily basis.
Now there is no more writhing agony. No pink urine......and no more ricocheting musket balls from the bowl! Just a blast of dust shot if I might notice.
Barely able to walk while pacing. Chugging water until my guts were sloshing. The appendicitis like pain with nausea and feverish feelings hasn't bothered me in a very long time.
A drop of citrus in the kidneys was all it took.

the citrus only applies to a type of stone,
not everyone produces the same kind, and my Uro told me it had the opposite affect on some,

it does work for me, I'm down to about one stone every 2 years, and the last couple I passed I barely felt when they moved from the kidney to the bladder (did not feel at all coming out, just heard them hit the porcelain,

last MRI I had, both my kidney's looked like they had been peppered with #9 shot, so I am considered a producer, (I'm basically a walking gravel pit)

I still drink close to a gallon or more a day, mostly water, and have not given up on a cuppa good English Tea in the AM, (or 3)

one other thing that helps, and I learned this when I had the biggest one, is if it gets to hurting too bad, stomp you feet,
pretend you are stomping the heck out of something, and it bounces it around enough to make it stop hurting,

                or it did for me,
