Minneapolis is having a crime wave due to not enough cops on the street with children being murdered by driveby's. Other departments are restricting what kind of 911 calls the department will respond to due to staffing shortages. Cops are being forced to work 12 hour shifts with their vacation/day's off cut due to shortages.
For many areas of the nation this summer will be a living hell to the people who cannot escape it. Shortages of darn near everything, evictions, > violence, homelessness and the mayhem that is going to going to go on with it. Ransomware attacks from Russia will most likely increase with the likelihood of the electrical grid being taken out. Can you imagine N.Y. or Chicago powerless for any length of time? Slo joe with try to keep a smiling face while his sidekick will just laugh about it.
Firearms sales continue to go up along with the prices as more first timer's buy for protection. Wonder how all of this will playout for the mid-term elections?

Living without electricity is no longer possible for an extremely large part of the population.
Big time Preppers would be OK, but if the blackout were to last any length of time, then they
and semi prepper folks like us would come face to face with the City hordes fleeing to the country
when they ran out of food and their taps stopped working. Within six months around a third of
the population would likely be dead, and those without a firearm would be dead a lot sooner.
China, Russia, Iran and North Korea are all rattling sabers in our face, except those sabers
have become a lot more lethal. I get the uneasy feeling those "Interesting Times" have arrived.

Just got our monthly water bill, up by 1/3rd with no increase in water usage. Weekly food giveaway's have stopped as of 1 June which will hurt some people I am sorry to say.
Many on this forum are in distress with it only to increase. I feel sorry for those of you who are in apartments or in town as this daily struggle to survive only continues. We have city water and I am now starting to address this issue to providing our own. Vegetables are not a problem as we grow ours year round water is the issue as we are hydroponic system. I am currently doing research to retrieve water from the air for a possible source. I have contracted with my Amish friends to provide grass fed beef for our freezer in the fall.
Much of what we have discussed on this forum, our fear of what might happen is now coming to pass. Society is rearranging itself with both sides pulling against the middle. My younger left leaning brother lives in a gated community in Florida and thinks that everything is fine, slo joe is doing a great job. Little does he realize/care that as society deteriorates his gated community will be a prize to be plucked. Locally we live under the radar and do not put on a high hat.

I live in a funny little neighborhood. It used to be out on the edge of town. We weren't even part of the city. We still have septic tanks and the city has told us we are way down on the list of ever getting hooked up to the system that surrounds us. There's a 100,000 people living all around us now but we are this little happy island. No sidewalks and no street lights. The city offered street lights for free and we said, no thank you. Don't think this is some little ghetto, our homes(with half acre lots) are in big demand. No one sells, we like it here. But I know that we can expect taxes to go up and I believe water is going to get more expensive. I figure over the years I have saved 10K by not being hooked up to city sewer.

Where I live sounds like where Dryheat lives, septic tanks, no amenities, no mail delivery, and
populated entirely by the new outcasts (White People). I don't even lock my front door at night.
Water is California's problem, has been for years as the democrat politicians think illegals are
more deserving of our tax dollars rather than building reservoirs. Back in the seventies it was
so bad huge pipes were installed to import water. Now in the south Los Angeles area where all
our and everyone else's foof is grown, the wells have gone dry. They're running ads on radio
urging everyone to carry out electric chores in the morning when the solar panels and windmills
are working - later they can't handle the demand because of all their stupid clean energy crap.
My neighbor has a swimming pool - a nice source of water, if ever needed.
