Saying Trump was cleared was a bit much. Folks down the chain of command knew what was needed at the top. That much was and remains crystal clear.

Also, it's interesting to compare this spontaneous display of mid-level initiative when clearing out one group of protestors to the claims of paralysis that apparently overtook Federal law enforcement on January 6.

Lastly, in an era when cell phones come and go, government officials can bypass official communication channels to make wishes privately known easily. Trump as you know has never sent an email in his life. And yet he always finds ways to discreetly get his point across.

I am pointing out that neither the administration or it's defenders had a problem at the time with how the mall was cleared.

They got exactly what they wanted, at the time.

From that perspective talking about it this way in 2021 looks like revisionism, and the culmination of a long struggle to fixate blame.... somewhere besides the Trump Administration proper.
