Trump never called for shared sacrifice to beat Covid. His base didn't want to hear that. Instead he offered them magical thinking "one day the virus will just disappear" and enough fog of confusion so that they could just do whatever the hell they wanted while believing they weren't hurting anything.

He never made a case for Americans choosing to all get on the same page to fight covid-19. Some rightly in that saw a man not big enough for the job.

He lost because he didn't deliver. Logic fail by the way, Liberals would not have voted for Trump, his base was not large or diverse enough to win alone.
