    Colorado Shooting

Change of pace from the Joe/Kamala threads.

A lot going on in this one. A citizen takes down the original cop-killer but himself is taken down by responding LEOs.

A tragedy all around, and ultimately it all goes back to the original shooter. But it underscores the risk to the citizen responder in cases like this, when police reinforcement arrives. And I would expect the citizen was not acting in a threatening manner when shot by the police so maybe that last shooting didn't absolutely have to happen?

No doubt our Guv'nah and his pals will try to play this to their advantage. RIP both victims.

Bad planning. DON'T be holding a gun when the cops show up.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Yeah but that could be any time. Bottom line is that once you draw you too become a target for the police. Doesn't mean drawing is a bad move just that the risk factor has to be acknowledged.

Way back when Pres. Reagan was shot, I was surprised that no other LEOs were shot . . . .

All those plain clothes LEOs from different depts., running around with guns in their hands . . .

Who’s to know who is the good guy? Who is the bad guy?

this is true, however in the case of the guy kilt,

he stopped and picked up the perps gun,

and when the police arrived he was killed,

he should have kicked it away or even stood on it, and as mentioned put his hands up

Yes somehow the danger didn't register in that moment. But he had just shot someone, justifiably, so who knows what was going through his mind. Sad outcome x2.
