what the textbook answer for a wanna be academic who failed to study the history and looks at it thru a modern cultural perspective?

and what is the Venn Diagram of the past 60 yrs, or past 100 or even 150 yrs on race relations, regional impacts and cultural issues, without modern revisionists trying to reinvent history thru 2021 eyes?

Well Lyman we live in 2021. The discussion is happening now, because the statues are coming down now, and the great CRT debate is happening now.

Here's a stumper I asked a liberal friend, who did not have a ready answer that held up.

Say a tribe bought some land and wanted to erect a statue of a native war chief who among his various military campaigns also killed white civilians. How is that statue different than Confederate generals?

FWIW I sympathize with those who encourage the descendents of slaves to move on from slavery. I think it's in people's best interest to find a way to do that. But I also get the point that part of doing that means letting the Confederacy as a historical era drift over the horizon and into the museums and history books as well.

And the other Lyman go-to move: labelling the opponent. A milder form of name-calling, but the same idea--refute the person, not the argument. Do you consider yourself an academic? No? Neither do I. But since when does one have to be an academic to have opinions about history?

I'm so glad for the "IGNORE" feature I could just chit, in part because I "don't" have to see the crying of the woke butt hurt snowflakes whining and belly aching like the spoiled 3 year old's they act like. Tantrum after tantrum rolling around on the floor crying, wetting and pooping themselves while banging their feet hands and heads on the floor. And all because someone wont let them force their satanist thought and mental illness on them LMOL.
Keep it up basement boys I'm having a great time tieing your tails together and hanging you over the cloths line to fight with you imaginary enemy LOL. And no I really cant read your cry baby drivel, so keep it up until you need to take more blood pressure meds so you don't blow out a vein in your underused smooth pea size brain. Make my day throw some more lines on the thread or even start another hate thread, I'm loving it. Have a nice day kids, I know I will

Destroying history is a great way to prepare to relive it.

              speaking of go to moves,,,,,

now you are the victim, just about on time,

2021 or not, we cannot always judge a person, event, or even a culture based on our views,

not only is it not 'fair' to those that lived back then, but it also taints our views, and does not give the history the attention or credit it deserves, good or bad, ,

and when you ignore history,, what happens?

              re your question,,,,

I think local community colleges offer English classes for those wanting to improve their expository writing.

                You should check them out.

It's always a ton of fun to throw the lure out into the water, start to work it in a careful and precise way. The the strike and a hook set followed by the play of the big fat big mouth bass. LOL Maybe I should present a different lure and retrieve to hook another dumb one, worked last time.

When you throw artificial baits you get bit by the ones that go after it, not much choice in it. Yes the bait and presentation is supposed to catch something a bit more specific but hey what can I say if they take they take. Maybe next time I'll rig up a Texas or Carolina rig and try a fat gettizit.

That is true....however on Christmas Day, 1868 Andrew Johnson issued a blanket pardon for all soldiers who had fought for the Confederacy for the crimes of "...treason or bearing arms against the United States." Abraham Lincoln had previously pardoned some
Confederate officials and officers above the rank of Colonel. Acceptance of a pardon equals a concession that the individual committed the offenses specified in the pardon.

One of the ironies is that the Leftists/Progressives can always tear down, but they cannot replace or rebuild. In Moscow in 1931 Stalin ordered the Cathedral of Christ the Savior-dedicated in 1881 to commemorate the defeat of Napoleon-dynamited to make way for a Palace of the Soviets-never built. There is a new Cathedral on that ground. In 1977 they razed the Ipatiev House in Sverdlovsk where the Imperial Family was murdered in 1918, the Church on the Blood stands there now.
