Well, Biden solved Chicago's crime problem with only a 4 minute tarmak talk with whatever she is!
He solved the border crisis by just shutting down the entire system that used to protect the border!

Chicago is being what Conservatives want it to be: a political talking point. It's far more useful as an example of failure than success. The Conservative strategy for Chicago, and many other large cities, amounts to containment . The counter-argument could be: put up or shut up, right?

      Also, MT has BDS bad.

Cities are routinely portrayed here as teeming cesspools of crime and social unrest. RayG couldn't get enough of it last year. That's a trope BTW that goes back to the 60's and the GOP since Nixon has run on the idea, largely successfully. The cities, like modern-day Sodoms and Gomorrahs, are fertile breeding grounds for the culture war issues that drive GOP turnout.

so instead of it being a DEM failure of policy, it's all the GOP's fault?

and portrayed by whom? the media is basically just a modern Pravda

The FBI reports crime statistics by county. Fifty-one percent of the counties in this country have ZERO homicides!

And on the other hand, 5% of the counties account for 68% of the homicides!

If we could change the 5% to match the 51% the homicide rate would fall by more than two-thirds!

Now what is it about those 5%ers?

How come the GOP doesn't compete in those DEM cities?

Problems can be found anywhere one chooses to look. For example, the Ozarks these days are seeing a resurgence of Covid that is entirely self-inflicted. It's a GOP area, so cannot that be described as a GOP failure?

Again, it's easier to point a finger than to pitch in, especially if one doesn't expect to get credit for trying. This explains the GOP attitude towards the cities AND the DEM attitude towards the countryside.

                  lordy,,

why doesn't the GOP compete in those cities,, they do, or usually try, there are some areas where there is not a viable GOP or Ind candidate, just like there are some areas where there is not a viable D candidate,

the voters want a D, and will vote for a D,, period, it's all about Demographics (and surely you know that)

how is that a GOP liability?

your comparison to Covid in the Ozark is meaningless, just another attempt by you to 'twist n turn' the conversation to another direction,

not to mention way to vague to even make the GOP assumption
